Using a steel wool, you need to scrub your shower door to clean it and use a mixture of one part muriatic acid for every ten parts of water. Never forget to wipe it dry after. You need not spend too much to get a new one. You will be surprised to see your bathroom transformed from grubby to gorgeous.
When buyers look around for houses for sale arlington tx, one of the parts of the home that they will surely look into is the master bedroom because it is such an important area. The next feature of your house for sale in arlington tx that you have to stage is the kitchen because it is as equally important as the bathroom and bedroom when it comes to functionality. Dated kitchen cabinets need not be replaced, you can just clean and repaint it. Do not overstuff it as well and you can add stylish hardware to make it look attractive. Renovating your bathroom is probably one of the most effective ways to boost your home’s market value. It is advantageous for the future if you have to resell it, also, it is useful because it will surely add to the beauty of your own house and provide more comfort for your family. There are a lot of things that should be taken into consideration first prior to starting the renovation process. To help you avoid doing unnecessary changes and pointless costs, you should know about these things first.
Before anything else, determine if you can do the job yourself or you will need the help of a specialist. Of course, there are a lot of home owners who do the renovation themselves especially if things can be done easily and there are some bathrooms of homes in arlington texas that are revamped by the owner themselves. If you do the whole renovation process, you will find it satisfying and fun and it also helps save cost. For renovating your bathroom, you can definitely install fixtures, hooks and towel rails, paint the wall of the whole bathroom and select the color schemes yourself so getting a professional will only be needed if there is a need for installing electrics, plumbing, tiling and other tasks that are tougher.
The next thing that you will have to know is if you will need to fully redesign your bathroom or just change its look through a makeover. The cost you will spend for your bathroom’s renovation largely depends on what you will have to do with it. It may also be different for families with different number of members because it varies with how many people are using the bathroom. It only translates to the need for installing more showers, basins, faucets and other upgrades. Redesigning your bathroom can help you save lots of space but it may also require too much spending. You can just give your bathroom a make over if there is no need for a full redesign at all. A dramatic change can be improved by doing simple things such as altering the theme or wall paint of your bathroom, changing the tiles or just putting in new toilets, mirrors, curtains and showers.
Having an idea of how long will it take to finish the renovation of your bathroom is the most important thing to determine. It will be uncomfortable for yourself and your family if you will have to go to other places or use another bathroom if your bathroom’s renovation was not finished on time.

Right now I’m going to be talking about a Before & After in the bathroom….(a la hgtv).
Everyone loves a great before and after. There are tons of tv shows that work from this idea . We just love to see things go from dark , cold , and ugly to pretty and full of life.
Here is a before and after in a bathroom made by an HGTV house decorator. Below are my thoughts and comments on this room. Note that, these are mere my thoughts on the remodel. What are your thoughts on the space ?
So, the hideous linolium floor got replaced by a beautiful marble hexagonal pattern floor. I love this change. It is traditional and sophisticated, yet in a way, shabby chic. I also love the pops of yellow in the room. It really gives the space a euphoric and relaxing feel. The antique claw foot tub is lovely and adds that hint of charm to the room. Though this bathroom isn’t huge, it feels like it is large enough to be cozy but not causing claustraphobia. There is a great window in the space, but most of it felt covered up by the drab and dark curtains in the before photo. To me, this is a bathroom I would want to spend some time in. It has this sort of lure that seems to require relaxation. I love the simplicity of the space. There is not a ton going on. The graphic print on the curtains is just enought to add some interest but not to over-crowd the eye. In other words, it doens’t distract you from other things in the space. I’m a fan of this bathroom makeover!
I’m also a fan of our houses on College Station Homes and Cedar Park Real Estate.
Hope your Wednesday is wonderful!

Today we’re going to discuss the average cost for remodeling a bathroom. From simple things like accessories or adding a vessel sink all the way to a complete remodel, we have the answers for you. Please keep in mind the information presented here are just averages but we do get this question quite often from our clients. So it seemed like a great topic to discuss and walk you through all the things to take into consideration just so you can get an idea of what to expect if you’re going to remodel your bathroom.
The first thing to consider is cabinetry. If you have custom built cabinetry you can expect the low end to be about $75 per linear foot for paint grade cabinetry up to $250 per linear foot. Again that’s for custom vanities. To have that finished to put the paint or stain on it, you can expect that to be around $100 dollars per linear foot additional.
The thing to take into consideration with plumbing is whether or not you can use the existing plumbing lines or are you going to be doing a major renovation meaning you’re going to relocate the toilet to a different part of the bathroom or you’re going to relocate your shower. If you are just changing out fixtures as an example like your faucets and shower head you can expect that to be around $600 for the entire bathroom.
However if you’re doing a major renovation changing out the layout of your plumbing. You can expect that to be about $2600. In addition if you want to add a Jacuzzi tub, the average cost of adding that is about $1000. For mirrors budget between $200-500 dollars. That’s a good amount of money to get a high quality mirror.
Lighting and electrical run very similar to plumbing. Can you use your existing fixtures and electrical lines or are you going to need to move your existing layout? If you’re just changing out existing fixtures and hang up new lighting fixtures, you can expect an electrician to cost between $75 -$100 dollars an hour. If you’re going to totally revamp your lighting design and add things like recessed lighting or an exhaust fan, you can expect that to cost an average of about $1500.
The next thing would be flooring, there are two pieces or two components to your flooring. You need to think about labor and material. Your labor install will really depend on the area you’re working in, but we have found that the average cost is between $4-6 dollars a square foot. Then obviously the tile material or whatever you choose for your flooring can range between $2-$20 per square foot. Tile is the most popular but there are other things to consider like wood.
Moving on to the shower, if you were just going to add a once piece around shower you can expect that to cost around $400. If you want a tiled shower you can expect those costs to be similar to the tile costs that we had talked about with flooring for example.
Drywall and paint: budget about $600 for basic textured walls. But if you decide to go with something fancy like an artistic plaster finish you can go up to as much as $2500 dollars.
Counter tops also vary. If you go with something popular like granite or marble you can expect to pay anywhere from $40-$60 dollars per linear foot. And that’s really dependent on the material you use.
Accessories range from about $100-500. Accessories would be all the little stuff that you’re going to add to your bathroom remodel project. It could be the hardware on your vanity or your towel bars just to name a few ideas.
Just keep in mind that these are average costs.

A home remodel project is a great way to spruce up your home and add a feeling of newness to the space. The bathroom is the perfect place to begin your home remodel process. It’s one of the smaller rooms in the home, but it’s also a room that requires great comfort ease of use. Because it’s a smaller space you remodel on a budget with no problem.
When it comes to bathroom remodeling on a budget, the very first thing you need to do is create a plan. Start by determining your budget and what you can afford for your bathroom remodeling project. Once you have a good picture of how much you’re able to spend, you can then easily plan your next move. Next think about the large ticket items you will need, for instance replacing the toilet, replacing the vanity, the shower, etc… When working on a budget, you might find that you have to be a bit more creative with your purchases and overall bathroom design.
Make a list of everything you would like to do and which items you want to change or replace the most. Start price shopping online and see how your list and prices measure up with your budget. If the list doesn’t come in at or under budget, then rate the items from one to ten, ten being the top priority and one the least priority in terms of what needs to be worked on first. Once you’ve assigned priority to everything on the list, you can either eliminate a few things or just start with the most important items and see where you end up after that’s all done and if you can add any of the extra lower priority things later.
Now the challenge is thinking about what new items or design style to employ in your bathroom. For instance, if you want a new bathroom vanity, what size will it be and what will it look like? It is important that you consider the size, style, design, color and materials of every item you wish to work on. If you have a small bathroom, it’s important that you pick furnishing and/or fixtures that have ample storage space and do not take too much room. There is now a wide range of styles that are more affordable. Modern and contemporary designs are best for remodeling projects on a budget since they are highly available and because of their minimalist style, they work in large or small spaces.
There are many other simple solutions to all kinds of bathroom dilemmas. Sometimes simply refurbishing the porcelain tub and adding a coordinating glass vessel sink and a striking vessel faucet will add life to a dull and old-looking bathroom. This is much less expensive than having to replace everything in the room.
So keep your priority list, your budget, and your measurements by your side while you shop and design and you will be sure to stay on budget and have a beautiful new bathroom to show for it in the end.

I’ve played out my fair section of time in that tiny bathroom, bedroom, actually entire home . The leading(a) problem is generally the whole storehouse issue. Who has enough space for all their little knickknacks and things they’ve collected over the years with spacious closets, let alone a closet-less room? There just actually aren’t a lot of choices unless you get original. This also presents the problem of creating uncluttered spaces that give the illusion of a bigger area. Where do you store all those bathroom supplies that no one wants to see, nor do you have room on the counter for them? There are a couple of solutions to this problem that can help make the space look not only more roomy, but warm and inviting as well! Here are a few ideas :
-Stay away from dark, bold colors. Stick with the warm neutrals. You can add that extra color splash with other accent pieces.
-Floating shelves are a marvelous solution for hiding away those unsightly items and looking pretty cool too! Just make sure that you have your stuff organized in way that is clutter free and organized.
-Glass and other reflective surfaces (mirrors) do a great job of creating the illusion that spaces are larger. If you have a full bath with shower, glass doors can really help in creating a more spacious looking and feeling room.
-Get rid of the clutter. If you must throw things in something, invest in some fashionable baskets. You can use these on open shelving to make things look more organized than they really are. who couldn’t use a little more of that in their lifespan
These are only a few of the ideas out there for maximizing the space in your home, no matter how big or little. Maximize the opportunity to live in our homes at College Station Homes or Lakeway Homes!
