Moving day by itself will probably pass in a blur, so its encouraged to try to savor your remaining moments in your home before leaving. You very likely had many memories, good and bad, there, and full closure on that period in your life is essential, so that you can move forward. Just before you relocate, you will will want to go through the following checklist and assure you have taken care of everything on it.

Is there any mechanical and electrical and household tools you need to turn off–water, gas, electricity? Have you ceased all utilities, and called any tax or local authorities of your transfer so that they can adjust your latest monthly bill and have it forwarded to your house? Is everything packed up, eliminated, binned or accounted for? If you are leaving behind furniture, have you made sure that there’s nothing in,beneath, behind or on top of it? Have you fulfilled any objects that will make certain the return of your down payment (if you had one?) Did you pack and marked your moving containers accurately? Have you paid for, or do you have the means to pay out your new house, if demanded? How about fixes? Have you completed them already? Or have you employed another person to do it once you’ve transferred? Have you left any sort of manuals that you don’t want, for devices or objects you’re leaving behind? Have you changed the address of your driver’s license, passport, work permit, visa, etc?

The initial few days in your new residence will feel just as if you’re still packing– just you will be unpacking and making a mess. Except if you merely have a few belongings, there’s no need for you to rush in unpacking. It may be inappropriate toput boxes in close proximity to the place it’s intended to go to, but it help make unpacking a lot much easier.

Almost all of your utilities should be on and connected before moving–but you may discover that your Internet and phone, cable or satellite take a couple of weeks to be connected again. So make the most out of the momentary change. Unpack as much as you can. In a month or so, you will be back to your day by day life routine so consider this several unpacking days your vacation. Unpack as much as you could before the utilities are reconnected because after then, your unpacking time may be reduced.
